There are many reasons why Microsoft Word is not the best package to be creating flyers in.
However, sometimes it is the only one available or that you may know how to use.
Therefore there are a few rules to follow when creating flyer in Word.
You should always create (if possible) your document at twice the intended size of flyer, so an A5 flyer should be created on an A4 document.

You also need to make sure your bleed is correct, so that there is plenty of room for us to trim into the background if you are having colour all the way to the edge. Please see our page on print bleed here.
Once you have created your flyer, you ideally should export it as a PDF for us to proof. this can be done by clicking Flie, Save As... .PDF, and in the tools option, make sure the pictures resolution is set to print (220ppi), as below.
